Trouble Shooting

If LANnouncer doesn’t appear to be working, first determine if the driver itself is working on the Android device.  You can do this by sending a curl command (assuming you have curl; if you don’t, you can use a web browser but it’s not as informative) as follows, assuming your IP Address is 192.168.1.200:

C\>curl "192.168.1.200:1035/?ALARM=SIREN&@DONE@"

Two things should happen.

1. Curl returns: LANnouncer: OK
2. The siren sounds.

If those happen, then it’s a Big Talker or hub issue.  If they don’t happen, either the service isn’t listening or the tablet can’t be reached.

To decide which, try pinging it. You should see something like:
C:\>ping 192.168.1.200

Pinging 192.168.1.200 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.200: bytes=32 time=54ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.200: bytes=32 time=82ms TTL=64

If you see:
    C:\>ping 192.168.1.20

Then it couldn’t reach your tablet at all.  Check the networking.
